Nicholas and Nahely met briefly on October 22, 2022 during the wedding weekend of Mark & Mary. Nahely was still living in Arizona at the time and their lives were not ready to fully cross. What fantastic foreshadowing! Fast forward twelve months to October 28, 2023. Nick and Nahely had the opportunity to meet at yet another party thrown by Mark & Mary (aka the facilitators of our love story). With Nahely having moved to Georgia a few months prior, the stars were aligning.

Nick took the initiative to reach out and ask Nahely on a date the next day. With Nahely finishing the first draft of her grad school thesis that week, Nick very patiently waited until the following weekend. He even read the first draft of her paper to help proofread before their first date even happened (that’s over 40 pages of true love)! Eight days later, they went on their first date to a Dia De Los Muertos festival and sushi dinner.

Two weeks after that, they decided to make it official! They went on a late night walk in Smyrna to discuss their desires for a relationship. By the time they checked the clock, it was past midnight. Hence the long standing debate - “when is our anniversary?” Some say November 18th, some say November 19th. The world may never know. What they do know is they get to celebrate a two day anniversary each year, which is about to become a four day anniversary with a November 16th wedding date! On November 19, 2023, they visited Chattanooga, TN, for their first trip as a couple. They explored the riverwalk, local diner, and Ruby Falls.

Over the last year and a half, they’ve visited Tennessee, Florida, Alabama, and North Carolina. They now live together in a beautiful home in Powder Springs, Georgia, with their fur-daughter Zophia. They enjoy hiking, trying new restaurants, attending local events, crafting, and playing games together in their quality time. Cheers to many more trips, memories, and decades of love.
